Discretionary Trusts may be established, whereby distributions may be made to the beneficiary only at the discretion of the Trustee.

This type of Trust prevents creditors of the beneficiary from forcing the Trustee to make distributions, but allows the Trustee flexibility to make distributions in case the creditors retreat from their collection efforts and initiatives.
