About The Book

Tax laws of this country are incredibly complex and the government makes little effort to advise its population on the existence and changes of such laws. To address this, Thomas N. Silverman, Florida Board Certified Tax Lawyer, has written Estate Planning for the Florida Resident, a comprehensive guide to our current tax system and how it relates to the transfer of property during an individual’s life or at death as part of his/her Estate.

Estate Planning for the Florida Resident takes the relevant laws of Florida and reduces them to their most understandable terms, giving the reader a working knowledge of their essential elements. This book addresses many key topics, including:

  • Florida Tax Laws
  • Advantages to Florida Domicile
  • Marital Agreements
  • Estate & Trust Litigation
  • Florida Guardianships
  • Probate Litigation
  • Florida Real Estate Tax
  • Estate Planning in Florida
  • Necessity of a Florida Will
  • Revocable (Living) Trusts
  • Federal Estate & Gift Tax
  • Transfer of Property
